Kyokushinkai is a traditional Japanese martial art founded by Masutatsu Oyama, a person widely renowned as one of the most powerful martial artists in history. Through the teachings of Sosai Oyama, Kyokushin students develop considerable physical and mental abilities through basic, self defense, and kumite (fighting) training that enable them to protect themselves and the people they care about. Students benefit from increased stamina, strength, and flexibility as well as greater confidence, self discipline, and contentment with oneself. Kyokushin students learn from local and international expert instructors from over 60 countries that are part of the International Karate Organization – Matsushima.

Kyokushin is a fighting karate which makes it very versatile to the competitive student. Kyokushin fighters can compete in virtually any martial arts related tournament with relatively little extra training. From K-1 kickboxing and Muay Thai to Grappling and Cage fights, Kyokushin offers students the opportunity to do it all. Students have even found that they can do well in the non-contact point karate tournaments as well. If you are interested in the competitive side of martial arts I will be happy to provide you with a comprehensive training regiment and additional sparring opportunities.
